What IDV is
IDV covers Europe, the Pacific, Asia and Canada — developed markets outside the US — and screens for high yield subject to conditions on earnings and dividend sustainability, so it is not simply a list of the largest payers. Roughly 100 holdings make it far more concentrated than VYMI, and the fee is more than double. In practice the portfolio leans heavily toward financials and utilities, which is where developed-market yield tends to sit. It is the oldest fund on this page and one of the oldest international dividend ETFs.
Who it suits. Investors who want a higher-yielding, more concentrated international fund than VYMI and will pay 0.50% for it.
