What JEPQ is
JEPQ is JEPI's structure pointed at the Nasdaq-100 instead of the S&P 500. The equity sleeve holds large-cap technology names, and the income comes from selling out-of-the-money calls on the index through equity-linked notes — the same instrument JEPI uses, and the reason its distributions arrive as ordinary income rather than return of capital. The Nasdaq-100 base means both higher growth potential and wider swings than JEPI, with a concentration in a handful of mega-cap technology companies. Distributions are monthly and vary with option premiums.
Who it suits. Investors who want JEPI's monthly income and are willing to take on technology concentration and deeper drawdowns to get it.
