What VIGI is

VIGI applies VIG's approach outside the United States: companies must have a multi-year record of raising their dividend, and the highest-yielding names are excluded. It covers developed markets only, so it avoids the governance and liquidity questions that come with emerging-market income. The fund has a quirk worth knowing — its December distribution sometimes includes a large realised capital gains payment on top of the ordinary dividend, which makes the calendar-year totals jump around and makes a simple year-over-year growth figure misleading.

Who it suits. Investors building a global dividend-growth portfolio who want the international sleeve to work the same way the US one does.
